Tony Blair was honored with the "Key to the City" and declared an "Honorary Citizen" of Pristina by the mayor Përparim Rama and the Municipal Assembly that convened in a special session in honor of the former British Prime Minister.
This is in honor of the contribution that former Prime Minister Blair made to the liberation of Kosovo 25 years ago at the head of the British government.
"I thank him publicly once again for everything he has done, for the Kosovar people here, the Albanians in Kosovo, but also for the Albanian people in Britain because Britain has given us the opportunity to be equal there, for us to be educated , so that we can be educated to become part of the British state and at the same time have the opportunity to have the state here in Kosovo, "said Përparim Rama, mayor of Pristina.
Blair said that the countries that stood by Kosovo 25 years ago continue to support it even today to build a bright future.
"I think it is important that we who were by Kosovo's side with pride in those dark days 25 years ago, it is important that we stand with you on the verge of something very optimistic in this new chapter of the country's history and I want to I emphasize that for me and my institute for the work we do now, we will help you in any way possible, because the more successful you are, the better it will be for the people here."
