Several large fires have broken out in Greece, while hundreds of firefighters from the ground and the air have been mobilized to control the flames, which currently seems like an impossible mission.
The most dangerous focus of the fire is considered the one in Kuvara of Attica, where the flames have engulfed a large area of bushes and trees, and are spreading rapidly, burning several houses.

Residents in the areas of Saronida, Lagonisi and Anavysos have been urged to evacuate towards Athens.
"The apartments are burning. The road is blocked and it is impossible for the firefighters to pass. The recycling factories are also at risk," the mayor of Saroniko told Alpha TV.

Currently, 140 firefighters with 40 vehicles as well as 7 airplanes and helicopters are operating in this area.
Earlier in the morning, another large fire broke out in Kallithea Loutrakiou forcing the evacuation of hundreds of residents. About 800 campers were ordered to leave the area and take shelter inside a sports stadium.
