A gunman was arrested near a rally for former President Donald Trump in Southern California.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Office said authorities spotted the driver of a vehicle at a checkpoint shortly before 5 p.m. local time.
The driver, a 49-year-old man, was found to be in unlawful possession of a shotgun, a loaded handgun and a high-capacity magazine, according to the sheriff's office statement.
The 49-year-old, identified as Vem Miller of Las Vegas, was arrested.
The sheriff's office said the incident did not affect the safety of Trump or anyone at his event.
