Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in an interview on Saturday with the television network "Canale 5", commented on the case where her bank account was hacked by a former employee of the Intesa San Paolo bank.

"I have an explanation for this whole matter, but I hope that at some point the truth of justice will come. You know, there are thieves who break into homes, steal valuables, and sell them to the recipient. I think the same thing is happening with the wider information market", said the Italian Prime Minister.

She added that "there are public and private officials who illegally obtain certain information and then sell it on the market," hinting that her bank account details would be used for blackmail.

But the head of the executive in Rome emphasized that her life and income have passed through previous filters and they have not found anything illegal, so she is not afraid of such blackmails.

"Who do they sell to? We await the answer. We can assume that interests are behind all this. "There are thousands of people who are victims of these illegal bank interceptions. If you ask me why, as far as politicians go, they are almost all center-right. I will answer that in all this drama there is good news: they have scanned my life and found nothing. This, perhaps, is why I am so uncomplicated by this story. Maybe there are pressure groups in our country. These groups do not want to accept that there is someone in the government who does not submit to pressure, who cannot be blackmailed, and they try, perhaps, to remove him in other ways. But I am afraid that they will not succeed", Meloni stressed.
