The director of the UN Population Fund for Serbia, John Kennedy Mosoti, said that on November 15, the eight billionth inhabitant of planet Earth will be born and that by the eighties of this century, our planet will have 10.4 billion inhabitants.
Mosotti stated that the world's population grew from seven to eight billion in just 12 years and that, after reaching a peak of 10.4 billion, it will remain at that number until the end of this century.
"When we look at the continents, we can conclude that we have reached eight billion inhabitants, mainly thanks to the demographic expansion of Asia. Africa has made the second largest contribution of nearly 400 million people, and among the countries are mainly India, China and Nigeria," said Mosoti.
