Elon Musk has declared that he will support the Republican governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis and not the former head of the White House Donald Trump in case the former runs for President of the United States in the 2024 elections.

The Twitter owner was asked if he would endorse DeSantis after saying he still hasn't found the ideal candidate among Democrats.

"My preference for the 2024 presidency is someone who is reasonable and moderate. I was hoping this would be the case for the Biden administration, but so far I've been disappointed," Musk wrote earlier.

As the Reuters news agency points out, this answer from Musk is the clearest evidence of his political preferences.

Political pundits have rated Republican DeSantis, who is seen as a potential opponent of former President Donald Trump to take over the White House.

Trump announced a few days ago that he would run again for the presidential election in 2024.

Florida's governor had a landslide victory in the midterm elections, while the former White House chief was criticized for the failure of Republicans to achieve the much-promised "red wave" after several major candidates endorsed by him lost.

Musk also said it was a good thing Trump himself didn't tweet anything after getting his account back.

"The important thing is that Twitter corrects a grave mistake in banning his account, because blocking a sitting president undermined public trust in this platform in half of America," was his comment.
