African dust has created an eerie landscape in Heraklion and Chania , Crete , Greece , where the sky has turned orange.
As can be seen in the photo, dust covers almost all areas of Crete.
Combined with golden temperatures, but also rain, a stifling atmosphere has been created for all residents.
The Civil Protection of the Region of Crete has issued recommendations for citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, especially people with respiratory or heart problems, children and the elderly.
Meteorologists estimate that the phenomenon will continue at least until Sunday evening, when a weakening of the southeast winds that contribute to the transport of dust to Crete is expected.
