United States President Donald Trump has made strong statements against the Italian prime minister and the head of the Catholic Church during an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Speaking about Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Trump said he was "shocked" by her stance and that Italy was not cooperating on issues related to war and energy security.

" She doesn't want to help us, I thought she had guts, but I was wrong ," Trump said. He also criticized Europe's role in the energy crisis and immigration, saying current policies are harming the continent itself.

Trump also criticized Pope Leo, saying he doesn't understand the situation in Iran and the threats that, according to him, are related to nuclear weapons. The American president also said that NATO countries are not contributing enough to security issues and that, according to him, the alliance "is not functioning properly."
