President Xi Jinping has put forward four proposals to safeguard and promote peace and stability in the Middle East. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning revealed on social media that the four points are:

- Maintaining commitment to the principle of peaceful coexistence. The Gulf States in the Middle East are close neighbors who cannot be displaced. It is important to support the Gulf States in improving their relations, work to build a common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security architecture for the Middle East and the Gulf region, and consolidate the foundations for peaceful coexistence.

- Maintaining commitment to the principle of national sovereignty. Sovereignty is the basis for the survival and development of all countries, especially developing countries, and must not be violated. The sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of the Gulf States must be seriously respected, and the security of their personnel, facilities and institutions must be strongly protected.

- Maintaining commitment to the principle of the international rule of law. It is important to firmly support the international system with the UN at its center, the international order based on international law and the fundamental norms governing international relations, based on the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations.

- Maintain commitment to a balanced approach to development and security. Security is a prerequisite for development, and development serves as a guarantee of security. All parties should work to create a conducive environment and bring positive energy to the development of the Gulf States. China is willing to share with the Gulf countries the opportunities arising from China's modernization and work with them to cultivate fertile ground for regional development and security.
