A lawmaker of the Greek Parliament has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The news was announced by the deputy of the New Democracy, Theodoros Karaoglou, in a post on his social media.

He shared with his followers that coincidentally, a few days before his son's wedding he learned that things were not going well with his health.

The diagnosis was "early breast cancer". As the deputy points out, no one is invulnerable in the end, while he added that one should not forget to do preventive tests.

As the Greek MP himself says, everything went well and the tumor was removed.

"The small tumor was removed and the histological analysis showed that the evil ended there! Of course, a preventive check is required at predetermined time intervals. But the lesson of the health problem I faced is that we should not take anything for granted," he wrote among other things in his post.

According to the CDC, breast cancer is usually found in women, but men can also be affected. About 1 in every 100 cases of breast cancer diagnosed in the United States is found in a man.
