Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, rumored to be "connected to crime", said that "he has never in his life heard or seen Veljko Belivuk and members of his clan".
"I want to tell people only one thing: I have not seen or heard any of them in my life. If I know them, not only will I not be the president of Serbia, but I am ready to go to prison", said Vucic to TV Prva, when asked about the character in question and the criminal clan, which is associated with his name.
He declared that "those who worked to destroy this criminal group, like him and the Minister of the Interior Aleksandar Vulin, are being attacked".
"You can see that they only attack those who break that mafia octopus," said Vucic.
We remind you that Veljko Belivuk is the head of a criminal group that is being tried in the Special Court in Belgrade for seven murders and other serious crimes.
The possible political implications arose when he admitted that he is a member of Vucic's party and added that his clan "worked for the state and the boss", but did not cooperate with Minister Vulin because, as he said, "he was on drugs".
