"God save the King" was chanted in the German chancellery. This was the reception with high honors that Olaf Scholz reserved for the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, on the official visit to Berlin to turn the hard page of Brexit.

The head of the British government has officially started his tour in Germany and France, in an attempt to restart the broken relations with Europe.

Labour's Starmer succeeded in the first conversation with Scholz to make the UK and Germany two friendly countries again, leaving behind the clashes of the previous Conservative government.

The two leaders spoke of a bright future through a new treaty with benefits in science, technology, development, trade and business.

"I am pleased that Keir Starmer is looking for a new start in relations with the European Union. We welcome this outstretched hand. The United Kingdom has always been an irreplaceable part of the solutions to the biggest issues affecting the whole of Europe. This has not changed even after Britain left the EU," said Scholz.

"The new beginning with the European Union does not mean the return of Brexit with the reintroduction to the single market or the removal of borders. It only means close relations on several fronts, including the economy and defense," Starmer said.

Starmer and Scholz agreed on a plan to combat illegal immigration, particularly by barge lines.

"We will deepen cooperation on common social challenges, such as illegal immigration, as we cannot destroy gangs of traffickers without the help of our partners," said the British Prime Minister.

At the talks in Berlin, the British prime minister announced that work would be done on a treaty covering issues from defense to trade.

Britain and Germany, NATO members and the biggest defense spenders in Western Europe, are looking for ways to increase defense cooperation ahead of the possibility that the United States will reduce military support for Ukraine if Republican Donald Trump returns to the White House early next year.

The leaders of Germany and Great Britain pledged to support Ukraine as long as necessary.
