Italian mayor arrested, charged with crimes against public administration

The Guardia di Finanza has arrested the mayor of Sorrento in Italy, Massimo Coppola. According to Italian media, the mayor is accused of crimes against public administration.

Coppola was stopped last night while pocketing some money during a dinner he attended after a sporting event.

Currently, the mayor is accused of the crime of unfair inducement to give or promise benefits.

Mayor Massimo Coppola is a 48-year-old lawyer. In the last elections of 2020, he was elected from a series of citizen lists.
