The concessionaire firm Dia Vita, indirectly owned by Klodjan Allajbeu, who also runs the American Hospital network in Albania, has recorded a loss of 132 thousand euros in the last year of the contract with the Ministry of Health. In a few weeks, the entire hemodialysis process in several regional hospitals in Albania will be transferred to the state, after a 10-year concession that was not at all beneficial for patients and was fraught with irregularities, since it did not cover the entire population, but in some regions it did not treat those with serious problems.

Although the concessionaire firm has received around 90 million euros in this decade, the private firm has again recorded losses, perhaps using a genuine scheme to not make investments in the last 4 years of the contract, since these investments would remain with the state itself. The various reports of the institutions that were supposed to control this contract have revealed irregularities, double payments from the state and lack of investment, while in the letters that the firm itself submitted to the National Business Center at the end of July 2026, it turns out that we have an increase in salaries and depreciation of the equipment and devices it uses.

Not only do we have no investments, but the Albanian state will inherit a rotten, stolen and destroyed system of all hemodialysis, increasing costs again for a service that should be carried out by the state itself, as it has the human and structural capacities to operate. These are those infamous concessions of 10 years ago, the glory of which is only written in public statements and letters, since on the ground the situation is extremely difficult, the same as with sterilization, basic population control, or other contracts.

According to documents available to the Vox News editorial team, the Dia Vita company has submitted its annual balance sheet report to the Central Bank, where it states that it has; "approved the coverage of the loss of 2025 in the amount of 12,350,525 lek from the retained earnings of previous periods."

This amount amounts to a full 132 thousand euros, while the time of making this balance sheet coincides with the last months of the deadline, as in a few weeks the entire process will be transferred to the state. The company was founded in 2015 with a capital of about 10 thousand euros, while currently it has its headquarters in the Swedish state, while it has acquired the hemodialysis service near the regional hospitals in Shkodër, Lezhë, Korçë, Vlorë and Elbasan.

In the documents researched by Vox News, it appears that during 2025, the Dia Vita company continued its economic activity, generating income from its main activity in the amount of 937 million lek, or about 9.5 million euros, where this amount has increased from the previous year, which was around 900 million lek.

"Despite the increase in revenue, the financial result of 2025 has deteriorated. The company has resulted in a net loss of 12,350,525 lek, while in 2024 it had realized a net profit of 5,553,805 lek. In terms of financial position, total assets at the end of 2025 are 564 million lek compared to 633 million lek in 2024, reflecting a decrease of about 10.9% ," the documents state.

Vox News continued to browse other documents where it turns out that there were some expenses for raw materials and consumables, which also coincide with the main increase. “Personnel expenses, including salaries and social/health insurance, have reached 167 million lek, compared to 154 million lek in 2024, with an increase of about 8.2%. Depreciation of long-term tangible assets has increased to 81 million lek from 69 million in 2024,” the company says.

The concessionaire itself admits that the performance of 2025 is characterized by moderate revenue growth, but with increased pressure from key operational costs. “ The increase in expenses for materials, personnel and depreciation has exceeded the positive effect of revenue growth, bringing a negative result for the period,” the documents state.
