Klodian Braho is one of the 17 prosecutors working in the Special Anti-Corruption Structure (SPAK), the specialized unit that investigates criminal groups and high-level corruption.

Recently, there are public suspicions that Braho has traveled outside Albania with an important exponent of the underworld, Ervis (Bledar) Gavelli, and he has not disclosed this fact to the structures that have verified the purity of his image.

These public doubts have turned into a report addressed to SPAK to investigate his prosecutor for falsification of documents but, why not, also for cooperation with criminal elements.

The report was submitted by Mirel Mërtiri of the incinerators. Of course, Mërtiri is not an amber character, and the report he made to prosecutor Braho is precisely related to the investigations into the scandalous affair of landfills and waste incinerators.

However, SPAK has the opportunity to "cover" the name of the complainant and to see and examine the facts conveyed in the complaint.

Has Klodian Braho really traveled with the character of the black chronicle, Ervis (Bledar) Gavelli? Did he declare this fact in the documents he submitted for the transitional reassessment process and in the application for prosecutor in SPAK?

The answers to these questions are not only answers to the report, but much more - they are an obligation for the public opinion, to find out exactly whether a special prosecutor, one of those "children's heroes" is tainted or not with characters of the world of crime.

The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, in an informal meeting with journalists held in the middle of this week, admitted that the complaint against prosecutor Braho is being examined.

"We received the report by mail. The matter is being treated like any other matter with the utmost seriousness. No one is immune even in our ranks, including me," said Dumani.

Now it remains to be seen if SPAK will treat the report seriously and if it will give complete and accurate answers on the suspicions of the travel of the prosecutor Braho in the company of a character accused of international cocaine trafficking.

Based on the data circulating in the media in recent days and believed to be part of Mirel Mërtir's report against Klodian Braho, some interesting data emerge.

On February 24, 2012, Klodian Braho, at that time head of the Berat Prosecutor's Office, made a car trip outside Albania in the company of three other people.

One of these characters is Ervis Bardhyl Gavelli, born and resident in Berat. This character was arrested for crimes in the field of narcotics in Italy, in 2004, that is, a few years before the "trip" with Klodian Braho.

Also, in 2020, Operation "Force of the Law" included Bledar Gavell (now with the changed name Ervis) in the list of persons for whom the property investigation would be carried out.

According to the announcement of Operation "Force of the Law", in April 2020, it was said that: "....Within the Normative Act no. 1, dated 31.01.2020, OFL has sent the requests for self-declaration of assets to the following citizens: Ervis Gavelli, resident of Berat, convicted for the criminal offense "Trafficking in narcotics". So, it is officially confirmed that Bledar (Ervis) Gavelli, the co-traveler of the prosecutor Klodian Braho, is a person registered and convicted for drug trafficking.

Referring to the data made public, Bledar (Ervis) Gavelli led a group that trafficked cocaine from Latin America to the Netherlands and Italy.

However, the prosecutor Klodian Braho did not declare this trip and the verifying institutions did not discover or overlooked such a fact.

Veting with question mark

Prosecutor Klodian Braho was confirmed in office by the Veting process in July 2019, after a dubious process and only with a majority vote of the body of the Independent Qualification Commission.
