Rama 'expects ticket' From Kraja: Lacks our confidence for another

Edi Rama's long speech to the Socialist Party Congress was filled with messages, for associates, opponents, internationals, but also for new justice, especially its anticorruption structure.

The 2016 chief socialist and head of government has avoided commenting on the work of justice arisen from reform that was voted on six years ago. Since 2019, he has avoided the work of SPAK and has come out with statements encouraging him to investigate.

But things changed at this congress. Rama indirectly asked the Albanian-led Kraja structure for why it has not launched investigations into Sali Berisha on the basis of allegations of major and minimal justice corruption, on which the US has declared non grata.

In this case, Rama's criticism goes directly to SPAK leader Mehmed Kraja, as the person who, among other things, has the power to instruct prosecutors to open investigations, especially in Berisha's case, where charges are ready and filed from across the Atlantic.

This is the first time Rama has addressed the SPAK with a concrete request. In the past, his subordinates in the party and government have done so, asking the Special Prosecution to investigate the CEZ affair, the privatisation of Partizan and the Gerdeci case.

In fact, there is a perception of the SPAK's willingness to launch investigations whenever the denominations have arrived from the opposition, while keeping in the dust of drawers the multi-year files it has inherited from former Serious Crimes.

In every public appearance, activities and presentations of reports on the work that the prosecutor leads, The Kraja states that this structure does not recognize the conviction of the political directions of persons under investigation, but only the law and objective assigned to it within the framework of justice reform; fighting corruption at the high levels.

But the work of the present leaves little to the bitter taste that in this case, with or inadvertently SPAK has turned into a mechanism that is serving the revenge of the LSI and punishing the names that broke with Illyrian Meta, at least on the issue of incense.

The inherited files that are sleeping are some, from those at financial cost, to those with human losses, such as CEZ-DIA, HECs, January 21, Gerdeci, Partizan Complex, Cranberry Factory, fuel branding and other privatizations and concessions that have been given over the years, where two of them have turned into a burden today even on the price of oil.

All these lead us to reasonable doubts that the Special Prosecution is acting by two standards; one for citizens and businesses without power and the other for officials, former officials and the powerful.
