The number of electric cars in Albania increases by 75 percent

The General Directorate of Road Transport Services has analyzed data in 7 months regarding the fleet of green vehicles, which include all-electric or hybrid cars.

According to DPSHTRR, the figures are an increase in terms of this category of cars. To stop at electric cars, in the 7-month period January-July of this year, a total of 1527 electric vehicles were registered.

But comparing it with the same period last year, there are 653 more electric cars registered, or 75% more. From their total, it is 15.1% of vehicles which are registered with 0 Km for the first time,

In the month of July alone, the fleet of All-Electric vehicles is 4,807, or about 45% more than last year.

To stop in electric or hybrid vehicles, 2998 were registered in 7 months in Albania, or 81% more than the January-July period of last year. Meanwhile, 42% of vehicles with 0Km registered for the first time are electric or hybrid vehicles

In the month of July, there are 10,041 fleets of electric or hybrid vehicles or 42% more compared to last July.

Meanwhile, the air impact according to DPSHTRR, thanks to the first registrations of All-Electric vehicles, we have 2,015,640 Kg CO2/year less. While 66.5% of the cars registered during January-July 2024 are Euro 5 and above, and Euro 4 category registrations decrease by 29% compared to January-July 2023.
