Singer Jonida Maliqi was recently invited to the show "Goca dhe Gra", where she shared some of the most difficult and emotional moments of her life. She spoke about her son, Dani, who has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

Maliqi spoke about the difficulties she faced, stating that in 2015 she and her ex-husband went to a psychologist, who told them that they were not worthy parents for their son, as they had left him in that condition.

During the interview, the singer also touched on her private life, talking about her separation from her ex-husband and the issues that have ended up in court. She made it clear that her son remains her priority, while expressing her hope that in the future a common language for a solution can be found.

"I never imagined that I had such great strength, I didn't know that I would move mountains for him. He has perfected me as a being. He is a teenager, we have had a beautiful journey with ups and downs. They told me that adolescence would be difficult, thank God he has made a lot of progress, he receives the love of his parents and grandparents and we are all there for him. Here I am today, I speak openly.

I accepted from the first moment that Dani was different from other children, but it was difficult to say it openly. At the end of 2015 we went to a psychologist and after half an hour he told us that we were not worthy parents and how we had left our son in this state. He told us that he would never speak and would never socialize.

That moment was a big blow and then we went to another center, that of Liri Berisha and with the help of a team of 5 doctors Dani today speaks two languages, goes to school. For that psychologist, Anjeza Dishnica, I would like to say two words: 'Shame on you, because a parent, no matter how much their child is, does not communicate with them in this way. It was the most bastard way possible, done by a doctor, moreover'.

I wanted to maintain discretion, to keep it as private as possible between me, Dan and his father. It was the latter's decision to go to court for the separation. Initially it was by agreement, but two years ago it became public and I went to court for various things. The media discovered it and I have a moral obligation to the public. Now it's no longer worth it, I have left it to justice despite all the efforts for a long period.

There are platforms and if one day I see that my son is being denied his rights, I will come out and speak out. My son is the epicenter and there has never been a lack of communication regarding my son. I have always tried to find the language of communication and I never imagined that I would be speaking about this today. I hope that one day we will find the right language and pave the way for a solution," Maliqi says.
