The "dark" profile of a serial killer!
Nikolin Paul

Six years on the run, changed identities, a double murder in Greece and a criminal past that is coming back to the attention of investigators.

The arrest of the 44-year-old Albanian in Athens has opened a new chapter of investigations between Greece and Albania.

At their center is Nikolin Pali , the person whom the Greek media links with a dangerous criminal profile and whom the Albanian media also identifies with the names Fran and Zef Preldakaj.

The arrest of Nikolin Palit in Athens, after six years on the run for a macabre double murder in Loutraki, has brought back into focus one of the most serious criminal cases linking Albania with Greece.

The operation of the Greek special forces EKAM in the Kato Patisioni area revealed not only the location of a person wanted for years, but also a series of suspicions that are now being investigated by the authorities of both countries.

According to Greek and Albanian media reports, the arrested person is suspected of using different identities to evade justice.

One of the main clues is that Nikolin Pali may actually be Fran Preldakaj, also known as Zef Preldakaj.

But what makes this story even more serious are the suspicions of other murders, which date back long before the serious event in Greece.

Loutraki Massacre

The most serious incident for which Paul has been convicted in Greece dates back to the night between October 10 and 11, 2020, in the Loutraki area, in Corinth.

The victims were his ex-partner, a 43-year-old woman of Ukrainian origin, identified in media reports as Svetlana, and her new partner, Ioannis Zonitsas, 42, a pharmacist in the area.

According to the reconstruction published by Greek media, the woman had started a new relationship after breaking up with the Albanian. Investigators suspected that he had not accepted the end of the relationship and had displayed controlling and threatening behavior towards her.

It is suspected that Paul still had spare keys to the apartment, which he had kept from the time he was in a relationship with the victim.

On the night of the crime, he allegedly entered the apartment unnoticed and attacked the couple with an axe.

According to details published by Greek media, the woman had received several blows to the head, while the pharmacist had also been hit several times, suffering fatal injuries.

After the murder, the perpetrator allegedly took the victims' cell phones and valuables.

The woman's vehicle was then transported to an isolated area and burned, in a suspected attempt to cover her tracks.

For this event, Paul was sentenced in absentia to two life sentences.

Six years on the run and life with a different identity

After the 2020 crime, the suspect disappeared and managed to evade Greek authorities for six years.

According to reports, he had used forged identification documents and various personal details. Investigators are looking into the possibility that he may have been circulating under multiple identities.

On November 6, 2026, the Greek special forces EKAM organized an operation in the Kato Patisioni area of Athens, where the 44-year-old was located and arrested.

The operation was conducted in the presence of a prosecutor. According to reports, firearms and grenades were also found in the apartment where he was staying.

Another person, a 41-year-old woman, was reportedly arrested with him, suspected of being his partner.

Greek authorities are also investigating his activity during the years of his escape, to determine whether he was involved in other criminal events.

The two murders in Shkodra

One of the most shocking developments following the arrest relates to Paul's suspected past in Albania.

He is suspected of being involved in the murder of two brothers , Sejdin and Seldjan Vucaj, in 2002, in the village of Shtoj i Vjetër, Shkodra.

The two brothers were killed in circumstances that are now coming back to the attention of investigators after their arrest in Greece. The person known in Greece as Nikolin Pali may be Fran Preldakaj, also known as Zef Preldakaj.

He was sentenced in absentia to 22 years in prison for the murders in Albania.

Pali has made statements about the two murders in Albania, but also that during interrogation he has given contradictory versions and denied responsibility for these events.

Suspicions of contract killer

Greek police suspect that Nikolin Pal's criminal activity may not have been limited to the events known so far.

Investigators are examining whether during his six years on the run he had connections to other executions or to people involved in organized crime.

In some reports from the Greek media, he is described as a suspect in contract killings. Some media outlets have even used the term "serial killer."

However, up to this stage there is no public confirmation from the authorities that he is responsible for another series of murders or that he has acted as a hired killer in other specific events.

Investigators are analyzing his connections, activity during the period of his escape, and the possibility of involvement in other assassinations.
