Property tax for businesses in Tirana, with 3 installments. The salary deadline is September 30

Every individual who has a property that is used for commercial activity in Tirana, this year has divided the obligation into three installments.

After the first two installments paid at the end of April and at the end of June, individuals will have to pay the third installment by September 30, 2024.

The General Directorate of Local Taxes and Fees informs that until this deadline, penalties and interest will not be applied, but if they do not pay on time, then other obligations arise.

The General Directorate of Local Taxes and Fees clarifies that the payment method with three installments will be applied only for this year, because the new reference prices in the capital changed in August 2023, after the declaration periods were closed.

Automatically, this year, individuals will pay an increasing amount of tax for commercial activities due to the increase in reference prices in Tirana and automatically in the market value for these units. Businesses can generate their own liability online through the data they have to access the system.

The municipality of Tirana has the best performance among the 61 municipalities in the country for property tax collection.

In 2023, the Municipality of Tirana has collected 24 million euros from the building tax, which includes business units, marking an increase from the previous year.
