The Great Ring of Tirana, the second lot requires additional funds, ARRSH

Completion of works on Lot 2 of the Great Ring of Tirana, which includes the segment from Shqiponja Square to New Boulevard, will require additional funds. The Albanian Road Authority plans to open the tender, with a limited fund of 167 million ALL, as it has prepared the public procurement procedure. According to the latest data, published in May, lot 2 was in an advanced stage of works, with 93% of the volume of work completed.

Meanwhile, in other lots where work is currently being done, the work progress varied from 36-65%. However, since May, field observations show an intensification of work by the contracting firms, advancing towards the completion of this infrastructural work, mainly in lots 4, 5, 6 and 7 that include the outer ring of Tirana.

The segment starts near Shkoza, going down the northern side of Kodra e Prifti, towards the Kinostudio area. Then it continues towards the north, descends towards the Tirana river and then joins the segment Babrru - Bregu i Lumit - Kthesa Kamëz.

The construction of these lots will also mark the union with the already completed segments, bringing traffic relief in the capital, as a little while ago, the authorities declared that the Great Ring of Tirana will end on December 31 of this year. This infrastructural work is financed from the state budget, while it is considered one of the most important public investments.
