The "plunge" of the euro returns, the European currency falls below the level of 102 lek

After 3 months, the European currency is back below the level of 102 lek. In the local foreign exchange market, it is exchanged for 101.8 ALL.

The domestic foreign exchange market has returned to strong fluctuations in the price of foreign currencies against the Albanian lek.

For the first time since mid-December of last year, the European currency euro has fallen below the level of 102 ALL, being bought today in the local market at 101.8 ALL and being sold at 102.6 ALL.

In the first months of the year, the European currency showed stability against the Albanian lek, remaining in what has been described as the 'new reality' of the European currency in Albania, which shows an exchange rate of the euro below the level of 110 lek.

The US dollar, the British pound and the Swiss franc also have a downward trend in the domestic foreign exchange market, thus showing an appreciation of the lek.

Meanwhile, tourism, which is considered one of the important factors of the fluctuation of foreign currencies, has seen a strong growth this quarter compared to the same period a year ago. Only in the first 3 months of the year, 1.7 million tourists visited Albania.
