More than 30 thousand pensioners are added to the country. The average pension amount is only 15,560 ALL per month

During the year 2023, 30,247 elderly people have reached the age of majority and have signed an old-age pension with the Social Insurance Institute. Referring to the official data of this institution, of the pensioners who entered the scheme during the past year, nearly 17,000 of them are men and 13,000 are women.

But what is the average monthly allowance for new pensions and is it keeping pace with living costs?

What is noticed is that the average monthly amount of a pensioner for the male gender is 16,702 ALL per month, while the average monthly amount for the female gender is 14,077 ALL per month. For both sexes together, the average pension is calculated at 15,560 ALL per month, or about 1/3 of the national minimum wage.

The benefits gap between men and women has been evident over the years, which is directly related to the wage gap between the two sexes. Since the pension is calculated on the basis of the contributions paid on the salary, the lower it was, the smaller the benefit value.

On the other hand, as regards the number of closed pensions, it turns out that during 2023 there are 13,727 pensioners who have lost their lives, making the real number of additional pensioners to be 16,520 pensioners.

The average time of "joy" of retirement is 21.1 years. Currently, the retirement age for men is 65.2 years, while for women 61.7 years, while the average age for both sexes is 63.9 years.
