The General Directorate of Road Transport reports that for the period January-September 2024, 311,303 vehicles were tested in the technical control. According to the data, there are 10% more funds compared to the January-September period of 2022.
Out of the total, 83.3% of the tested vehicles are vehicles (4+1 and 8+1 seats), while 36.2% of the tested vehicles were carried out at the Regional Directorate of Road Transport Service in Tirana.

According to the data, 31.6% of the total tools that were tested remained.
What are the main reasons for the lag that need to be improved to retest the tools?
Most of the vehicles left in the Technical control are for visual and functional deficiencies, where they total 46.3%. Then for the discharge of the gas system from where they are 24.6% of the total. Only 15% of the tools remained for the steering system, while 14.1% of the tools remained for the braking system.
Only 29% of the total tools have been retested, but how is the situation for tools over 22 years old?
According to DPSHTRR, 5,147 vehicles with an average age of 22 years were permanently deregistered, or +13.9% compared to January-September 2023.
DPSHTRR recalls that tampering with the odometer, constructive changes and any other tampering that poses a threat to road safety is strictly prohibited.
