A company called Orti, headquartered in Elbasan, has sunk dozens of creditors, leaving millions of euros in unpaid debts. A few days ago, the company was placed in bankruptcy proceedings by decision of the Elbasan Court, an initiative requested by Raiffeisen Bank.

Raiffeisen is also the entity most damaged by the hole left behind by ORTI.

According to a court decision in 2015, the company from Elbasan received 4 million euros in loans from Raiffeisen Bank and failed to repay them.

Meanwhile, taxes come in second place. The company currently has an unpaid debt of 2.3 million euros to the tax administration. These are obligations for profit tax, VAT, but also employee insurance.

In third place is again a public institution. It is the Energy Distribution Operator. According to the report submitted by the bankruptcy administrator, the company has 500 thousand euros in unpaid energy bills.

The court ruling reveals that ORTI shpk has left at least 40 private businesses, who were suppliers or subcontractors of this company, in debt. The list of debts that the company has left unpaid is long, while the endless amounts of enforcement orders have put creditors in conflict with each other over who will be the first to recover any part of the debts through the execution of assets that may have remained with the company.

Court decision

The Elbasan Court has appointed Aida Nur as the bankruptcy administrator for the company. The court has also given 45 days to all creditors of the commercial company “ORTI” sh.pk to present their claims to the bankruptcy administrator.

Orti shpk is a company founded in 2006 by owner Kadri Mehallan. It operated until 2018 and then went into passive status, leaving behind a huge mountain of debts and a long list of creditors, who will now await the bankruptcy procedure to see if they will recover any penny of the lost money./ Kapitali.al
