50 thousand old "bonus" lek for pensioners, distribution begins tomorrow

The Council of Ministers approved this Tuesday an important decision for all pensioners, providing for the first time a "summer bonus", in the amount of 5 thousand new lek or 50 thousand old lek.

The news was announced by Minister Delina Ibrahimaj, in a communication with journalists from the headquarters of the Council of Ministers, informing all pensioners that the distribution of the bonus begins tomorrow, July 1st.

"Looking at the performance of the economy, the first 5 months of the year, but also the performance of the additional revenues collected by institutions, we decided today to grant a bonus to pensioners. This will be the summer bonus worth 5 thousand lek," she said.

Further, Minister Delina Ibrahimaj said that all categories of pensioners will be beneficiaries and that starting tomorrow, they will be able to withdraw the summer bonus at pension distribution centers.

"It will be allocated to 777,200 citizens. The financial effect is 3.7 billion lek and the entire number of pension beneficiaries is covered. We will continue to pay special and increased attention to the income of pensioners," she continued.
