Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to critics who claim that salaries in the tourism sector in Albania are lower than in neighboring Greece.

He posted on social media a video of three boys working as waiters on the Radhima Promenade, who receive salaries of 1,000 euros per month, in addition to tips.

In his post, Rama says that in the Albanian tourism sector, salaries are high and taxes are much lower.

"I stopped to drink a coffee here at Lungomare 4 in Radhima e Rilindur. One of these guys came up to me, brought me coffee. I asked him how much you earn, he told me 1000 euros. Ou? He keeps the tips himself. Here you go!

Here we are at Lungomare 4 in Radhimë. Whoever wants to come and verify it, let them come, whoever doesn't believe it, let them continue to believe what they want.

"But in Albania, in tourism there are no lower salaries than in Greece. Taxes are much lower and what remains in the end is much more," Rama writes.
