While the European Championship continues its journey, unfortunately the same cannot be said for our National Team, which could not pass the group stage. After approximately a week has passed since the last match with Spain, the time has been enough to coldly analyze the reasons, the problems but also the controversies raised in the media, where it went wrong and where it could be done better.

The national team achieved a historic qualification and this undoubtedly remains a quite ordinary event for us. The fact that she managed to come first in the group is also appreciable. However, we can affirm without fear that fate reserved us three national teams with weight not only in football but also in history and culture. The latter logically relieves us of the bitter taste of elimination, even though we are a nation that exerts high emotional pressure, demanding initiative as well.

And yet could we call ourselves lucky to have such a lot anyway?

Who better than these opponents to echo our journey in this competition? Because one thing is very certain that facing opponents like Croatia, Italy or Spain is always a marketing showcase not only for the players who were on the field but also for Albania itself.

Given that in recent years, tourism has been the headline in our country, the stage lights turned from us during these three matches highlighted the name of Albania even more.

Beyond the green field, an important role was played by the fans of the National Team who with their performance and charisma showed not only the citizen but also the fall of several myths in decades.

And to return to the football aspect, these matches anyway created some debates in the media rooms and not only. Just as this adventure really began since the publication of the list by trainer Sylvinjo, so it went.

Coincidence was also the coincidence or parallelism of two situations that seems to have brought us back to the 2016 European Championship; the "Djimshiti" and "Gashi" scenario, although they were cases that did not affect the elimination of the National Team. Why didn't we succeed then?

Leaving aside a cast of names that appeared in front, it was clear from the trainer that although it reflected an outstanding job on the part of himself and the staff, in some passages he seemed to be found unprepared. This is also due to his not extensive experience in this role. But beyond a general good management, it was precisely these moments that made the difference in narrow defeats and a stability in the game, once again returning us the emotions of the past where we fought even for a dignified defeat.

However, we must admit that a European atmosphere has clearly been created in our National Team. An air or tis, undoubtedly brought by the players who grew up outside the territories of natural Albania, giving it a new image and spirit, as the only weighty ambassador at the moment.

In the end, the Albanian team is still a developing national team. The number of talents keeps on coming and increasing, this is also due to a football education in European schools. Added to good education as a whole, these are just some of the many reasons that their management and absorption should develop simultaneously with it. The just completed adventure should not be seen as a failure at all, but as a new beginning that this time comes with more experience, more potential and more prestige.
