The identity of the Albanian arrested yesterday in Bolivia is revealed, as part of a major operation where the much-wanted Brazilian lourival Máximo da Fonseca was arrested.
According to the Interior Ministry in Bolivia, the arrested Albanian is Lorenc Hyseni.
It all started with the investigation into the largest cocaine shipment seized in Oruro-Bolivia a few months ago, 8.7 tonnes, which led authorities to alarm neighboring countries and find similar shipments in Peru and European countries. The investigation showed that the most likely origin of these cargoes came from the Chiquitania region in Santa Cruz.
After several operations and the killing of two people during the carnival, police forces entered the municipalities of San Rafael, San Miguel and San Ignacio, eventually capturing Lourival Máximo da Fonseca, who had many identities in Brazil and Paraguay. Likewise, in Bolivia he had a false identity that he had taken in 2016. For Bolivia's Interior Minister Eduardo del Castillo, Fonseca is not just a "big fish" but a drug trafficking "whale."
Along with Fonseca, albanian Lorenc Hyseni and Walter Rivero Lola from Bolivia, Leonardo Barsad Da Rocha from Brazil, Alvaro Roca Casupa from Bolivia, Joao Batista Da Silva Carneiro from Brazil and Jacop Dick Peter from Bolivia have also been handcuffed.
During their arrest, there was an exchange of fire with Bolivian special forces, fortunately without any injuries. After police intervention, armaments and other items have been found.
"Mr. Fonseca will be transferred immediately to Brazil, as the true identity of this citizen of Brazilian nationality is known while other nationals of Albanian and Brazilian nationality will initially meet the relevant sanction within the national territory for crimes of possession and possession of weapons, attempted murder against members of the Bolivian Police and for legitimizing illegal gains," assured the Interior Minister.
