The Council of Ministers approved today the coverage of expenses for the treatment of doctor Arvin Dibra.

At today's meeting, upon the proposal of the Minister of Health and Social Protection, the Council of Ministers decided to cover the medical expenses of doctor Arvin Dibra, in the amount of 2,000,000 (two million) lekë.

This fund should be covered by the Compulsory Health Care Insurance Fund.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund are responsible for implementing this decision.

QSUT surgeon Arvin Dibra was accidentally injured on August 10, 2024, after jumping into the Buna River in Shkodra to bathe.

After receiving help in Albania, he then headed to Italy for further treatment.

The health condition of the doctor, who also has Italian citizenship, began to improve after a successful surgical intervention to treat injuries to his neck and vertebrae connected to the spine, but he continues to need treatment.

Prof. Dr. Arvin Dibra currently holds the position of Head of the 1st Surgical Clinic at QSUT and Head of the Department of Surgery at the University of Medicine.
