An Albanian has been sentenced to 7 years in prison in Britain after being accused of being part of a structured criminal group that was involved in drug trafficking. According to the British media, William Hunter and the Albanian Gentjan Kaloti have been convicted by the criminal group, who were tracked down by the police after they managed to penetrate their coded messages.

At Newcastle Crown Court, Hunter was jailed for eight years and one month after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Albanian Kaloti was jailed for seven years after admitting conspiracy to supply drugs.

The drug plot also involved cocaine dealer David Borley, from Killingworth, North Tyneside, who was jailed for 19 years last month. Northumbria Police said it had opened a case against Borley and his associates in 2020 and discovered messages sent from Kaloti's encrypted device in which he identified himself as Alboss, the head of an Albanian criminal group.

It is learned that Kaloti had helped supply Borley's associates with 45 kg of cannabis. Police said a search of a property in the Gateshead area uncovered £169,000 as well as several vehicles. The messages revealed that Kaloti had coordinated the operation, while the courier was Hunter, who had provided the transport to deliver the loads of cocaine.
