Three Albanian citizens have been arrested by Spanish police in the province of Maello and a fourth is under investigation for illegal activities related to the cultivation of cannabis. During this operation, officers seized 3,880 cannabis plants, weighing a total of 330 kilograms, in two laboratories hidden inside closed premises in a residential area.
The investigations began after suspicions raised by the Garda Civile, who had identified two apartments in Maello as possibly involved in illegal activities related to the cultivation and trafficking of drugs. After installing surveillance equipment and monitoring movements in the area, the law enforcement forces took action that led to the discovery of laboratories equipped with advanced technology for the cultivation of marijuana.
During the operation, three Albanian nationals were arrested and a fourth is being investigated for suspected crimes against public health, including drug trafficking and electricity fraud. The investigation is still ongoing and focuses on fully uncovering the criminal activity and the possible involvement of a wider drug trafficking network, including an Albanian organization.
This action is part of a wider operation by the Spanish authorities against criminal groups that exploit closed areas to cultivate and traffic narcotics. The Civil Guard has emphasized that it will continue to monitor and pursue these groups to curb the spread of drugs and criminal activities that threaten public safety.
