A 46-year-old Albanian killed himself inside his cell in Terni prison in Italy.

The incident happened around 10:30 this Monday morning, where the Albanian, who was in the cell after being accused of domestic violence, was found hanging by the police in the cell, Italian media reports.

"Efforts of health workers and prison police to save him were in vain," said one of the prison officials.

The dead body was transported to the Perugia hospital, at the disposal of the judicial authority of Terni for investigations into the case.
