The number of drivers arrested in Durrës for drunk driving has reached 6, some of whom attempted to avoid alcohol testing by offering money to Traffic Police officers.

Over the weekend, as part of the "Weekend" measures plan, the police arrested 5 drivers who were driving while intoxicated and without a driver's license.

Two of them, citizens NN and HM, attempted to bribe police officers by offering sums of money to avoid alcohol testing and arrest.

The test showed that NN was driving with an alcohol level of 1.62 mg/l, while HM was driving with an alcohol level of 1.57 mg/l.

During intensive monitoring, citizen DM (1.22 mg/l) and citizen D. Ç. (2.21 mg/l) were also arrested for drunk driving.

Also, on "Hysen Kertusha" street, citizen RD was arrested, who was driving a vehicle without a driving license.

The investigative materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecution Office for the criminal offenses of " Irregular driving " and " Active corruption of persons exercising public functions ".

Durrës Traffic Police appeals to all drivers to respect traffic rules, not to drive while intoxicated, to respect traffic signs and not to use mobile phones while driving.
