The Union of University Employees of Albania (SPUSH) has called for a solidarity march today, October 20, at 10:00 AM, in front of the Polytechnic University of Tirana.
In a public statement, the union expresses concern about the situation created during the student protests, which have been ongoing for six days, and condemns what it describes as police violence.
SPUSH states that it has been supporting the students since the start of the protest, while emphasizing that it is following with great concern the way the situation is being managed by the authorities.
Through the call for the solidarity march, the union aims to express support for the protesting students and oppose the police actions against them.
Meanwhile, a day earlier, 963 professors, academics, and representatives of public life signed a five-point declaration, through which they demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, the creation of a caretaker government, and respect for fundamental rights and freedoms.
