Family of 4-year-old boy arrives at hospital dead: He vomited after consuming honey

A 4-year-old child has died under still unclear circumstances in Vlora, while health authorities and justice bodies are carrying out the necessary verifications to fully clarify the case.

According to family members, the child had shown symptoms since the morning hours, after allegedly consuming honey.

He had been experiencing severe vomiting, which was initially thought to have subsided. However, it recurred and before he died, the child had exhibited the same symptoms, with incessant vomiting.

During transportation to the Dukat health center, the child showed no signs of life, a fact confirmed by doctors. He was then taken to the Vlora Regional Hospital, in the large pediatric ward, where it was determined that he had arrived lifeless.

"The preliminary forensic examination did not find any signs of violence or other injuries on the child's body. The results of the biopsy analysis and further examinations are currently awaited to determine the exact cause of death," the police announced.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Vlora Prosecutor's Office, which has initiated the relevant actions to fully clarify the incident.
