"The Miracle Doctor," as "Trita Hospital" advertised the surgeon being investigated for the death of the businessman who had his stomach reduced

Andrea Formiga is the surgeon under investigation by the Padua prosecutor's office in Italy, who operated on the Italian entrepreneur in a private clinic in Albania. The patient underwent a stomach reduction procedure and then went into cardiac arrest at the clinic and died at the QSUT, where he had been sent for help.

Formiga is an Italian surgeon who has been collaborating with the Trita Hospital health center in Albania for several years. This center also operates the DermoLife aesthetic clinic.

In a video shared on the official pages of Trita Hospital, it is written that "patients call him the 'miracle doctor'". The doctor confesses that he has more than 30 years in this profession. In addition to Albania, he says that he is active in Liguria and "more or less all over Italy."

He came to Tirana once or twice a month, where he performs bariatric surgery on the stomach or treats weight-related problems at the health center. He also performs procedures such as fibrogastroscopy and colonoscopy, and also lists other services.

On the official website of Trita Hospital, it is written:

"Dr. Andrea Formiga is a General Surgeon and Director of the Interdisciplinary Bariatric Center (CIBO) in Milan. After graduating in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan (1996), he specialized again at the same university, in General Surgery (2002). In the years 1994-1997 Dr. Formiga took his first professional steps as a student/doctor at the San Giuseppe Hospital in Milan. In 1998 he began working, initially as a resident and then as an independent specialist in General Surgery, at the San Marco Polyclinic, under the direction of Prof. Carlo Rebuffat. In 2008 he began to dedicate himself to Bariatric activity at the San Carlo Clinic in Milan, while from 2014 to 2015 he was Head of General Surgery and Digestive Endoscopy at the Auxological Institute. Since 2002, Dr. Formiga has been an independent professional at Casa di Cura La Madonnina, an activity which over the years he has also added to Casa di Cura Columbus, Casa di Cura Villa Arbe in Milan, Casa di Cura Montanari, in Morciani di Romagna, as well as at the Nigrisoli Hospital in Bologna. Dr. Formiga has the largest Italian case history for endobariatric treatments performed and a long list of bariatric interventions to defeat obesity.
