The Court of Appeal in Durrës has upheld the security measure "Arrest with prison" for the Turkish businessman, Faruk Fatih Ozer, who has committed hundreds of millions of euros in fraud with cryptocurrencies.
The appeal has not accepted his request for the change of the security measure, from "Arrest with prison" to "Compulsion to appear".
During today's session, through his lawyer, Faruk Fatih Ozer has claimed that he is not a person of high social risk, nor is he registered in Turkey for criminal activity.
His lawyer has stated that Ozer is a highly educated person, and that the prison sentence should be mitigated by leaving him under the obligation to appear whenever the Court requests it.
So, on the other hand, the prosecutor of the case has stated that there is an investigation against him in the Turkish state and that he is wanted internationally for criminal offenses, saying that the security measure cannot be changed, leaving him in prison.
Representatives of the Turkish embassy were also present at the session.
Faruk Fatih Ozer was arrested on August 30 after being internationally wanted for fraud for a year by Turkey.
