The Chief Prosecutor, Olsian Çela, reacted after Albania was removed from the gray list of money laundering .

"Albania leaves the gray list of money laundering, this is also the result of an essential contribution of special sections in the 7 main prosecutor's offices of the country, set up in the framework of the implementation of the strategy drawn up by the General Prosecutor's Office in 2020 to fight the phenomenon" , writes the chief prosecutor in a post on "X".
The news that Albania has left the money laundering gray list, which it entered in February 2020, was given today (October 27) by the Minister of Finance, Ervin Mete, during a conference with the IMF and BSH.
"The decision was taken by the FATF, Financial Action Task Force, to remove Albania from the gray list, otherwise known as enhanced monitoring.
The decision was taken today by the Plenary Assembly of the FATF and comes as a result of the progress made by our country in implementing the recommendations. This is a decision with a number of positive impacts, both in terms of reputation and in easing the costs of financial transactions in the banking system at home and abroad.
It is an encouraging and motivating news for us to continue strengthening the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as to further fulfill the commitments undertaken with international partners", said Minister Mete .
