The police of Tirana have arrested three people, while the other has been declared wanted, while more than 89,000 euros have been seized from them, benefited as a result of defrauding businesses, presenting themselves as high officials of institutions.

Ergys Ahmetaj, Andi Basha and Gëzim Kusi, 21, 18 and 19 years old, were put in handcuffs.

These citizens tried to defraud a private entity, in order to benefit from the amount of 40,000 euros, presenting themselves as senior officials of the institutions and using different names.

Police notification

The "Attempt" operation, following the 2 previous operations carried out by the Investigative Directorate of the State Police and the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, to attack the criminal activity of fraud, with the aim of benefiting from significant monetary values.

Specialists for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, in cooperation with Police Station No. 3 and the Operational Forces of the DVP Tirana, thanks to the increase in the confidence of citizens, to report to the police structures, cases of criminal activity with the aim of benefiting from monetary values, have organized the coded police operation "Attempt", for the identification, localization and putting in handcuffs of some citizens acting in the form of a structured criminal group, who had tried to defraud a private entity, to benefit the amount of 40,000 euros.

As a result of the police operation coded "Attempt", thanks to quick professional and investigative actions, the arrest and detention was made, for the criminal offenses "Fraud", remaining in the attempt and "Structured criminal group", of citizens EA, 21 years old, AB , 18 years old and GK, 19 years old, all three residents of Tirana.

From the investigations carried out, it is suspected that the citizen F. Gj., 39 years old, declared wanted during the operation "Subjekt", conducted by the State Police, on January 10 of this year, is a collaborator with the above-mentioned 3 citizens, who were arrested in the act during the "Attempt" operation. Work continues on the capture of the citizen F. Gj.

These citizens tried to defraud a private entity, in order to benefit from the amount of 40,000 euros, presenting themselves as senior officials of the institutions and using different names.

As material evidence, 89,400 euros found during the inspections of the apartments and the mobile devices of the suspected perpetrators were seized.

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further procedural actions.

The State Police thanks the citizens, for the increase in trust to report such cases, but also other cases of illegality, in all areas where they appear, to the police structures.

The State Police invites citizens, economic operators nationwide and other victims, in case they know or suspect criminal activity of this nature, to report it without hesitation, to the police structures throughout the country, guaranteeing that The State Police has all the capacities in human and operational resources to punish anyone who is implicated in this criminal activity and in any other illegality.
