The lawyers of Altin Hajri , the owner of the " Golden" complex in Shijak , who is being tried in absentia for the kidnapping and disappearance of Jan Prenga, have opposed the prosecution's request for a life sentence.

Hajri's defense made its final objections today, while  the GJKKO  is expected to issue a decision on Hajri's sentence.

Lawyer Aranit Rosh claims that Hajri has no connection to the incident and that according to him, hooded people came to his business premises and told him that the person in question ( Jan Prenga ) was sick.

Roshi claimed that Hajri gave him water and then when he saw the weapon and bloodstains, he realized that this was a serious incident and removed the family from the complex.

"Altin Hajri was in the bar. He saw the people who came, in the hood. He was interested, he asked what happened, they told him he was sick. He gave him water. He saw signs of blood and a weapon, he realized that it was something serious and he removed the family members from the business. He didn't even know Jan Prenga. A criminal incident could happen today in a hotel in the middle of Tirana, say at " Rogne r", if someone parked their car there in the parking lot, left drugs or whatever, the owner of the bar cannot be blamed for this. If he were part of the agreement, at least he would address them somewhere else and not in his business", the lawyer stated.

However, SPAK claims that the totality of the evidence collected confirms the suspicions that  Altin Hajri , the owner of the complex where the victim's body was taken, was aware of the kidnapping and collaborated with the perpetrators of this serious event.

We recall that the serious incident occurred in January 2020, when Jan Prenga was kidnapped in the Kamza area and then taken to a resort in Shijak, where he was last seen.

According to investigations, he was held hostage and tortured, and his body has not yet been found.

The prosecution has proven that the kidnapping of Jan Prenga was ordered as an act of revenge for a quantity of drugs lost in England, which involved the victim's brother, Ndrek Prenga .

Dritan Rexhepi, known as a name in the underworld, is suspected of being involved in this event, who is suspected of having ordered the kidnapping from Ecuador, where he was at the time.
