Spanish prosecutors have requested 22 years in prison for Italian Marco Romeo, accused of murdering his Albanian partner, Sibora Gagani, in Torremolinos, Spain, in the summer of 2014 and hiding her body for almost nine years.

According to the indictment, the two met in 2009 in Italy and moved to live in Torremolinos in 2010. After a temporary separation, in July 2014 they returned to live together in an apartment in the El Calvario area.

The prosecution alleges that, on a date between July 7 and 14 of that year, the accused shot the 22-year-old in the apartment with a sharp weapon, causing at least four wounds, three of them to the back, which took her life.

After the crime, the accused decided to hide the body inside the apartment itself.

To do this, he built a structure in the apartment, using wood, plastic bags, sand, and a basic substance, possibly lime, with the aim of sealing the structure and preventing the spread of odors.
