Mark Anthony Samson, the young man who killed his Albanian ex-girlfriend, Ilaria Sula, was questioned this morning. The 23-year-old said he stabbed her out of 'jealousy'.
This is what the Filipino told the investigator in Rome, who questioned him this morning regarding the murder of the 22-year-old.
“I acted on impulse,” the young man said, confirming once again that he was the one who killed Ilaria, but denied having done so intentionally. According to Samson’s statement, the crime occurred on the morning of March 26. The two had recently ended their relationship, the girl had gone to his house to return some clothes and then stayed to sleep because it was too late to return by public transport. In the morning, he killed her. The judge confirmed the arrest of the boy, who is in the Regina Coeli prison.
The State Police investigation is still ongoing. No traces of blood were found in the car used by the boy to move the 22-year-old's body. According to what emerged from the investigation, Samson wrapped the body in a black bag and then placed it inside a cart, which was then loaded into the car. Traces of blood were found in the apartment on Homs Street 8, especially in the boy's room, where the murder took place. The young woman was killed with three stab wounds to the throat, from what emerged during the autopsy, she tried to defend herself.
Ilaria Sula's lifeless body remained in the apartment for several hours, where her parents were also present. Mark Samson's mother and father stated that they did not know anything had happened. Their position is being reviewed by the prosecution, they are not under investigation at the moment.
Ilaria Sula was murdered on the morning of March 26, the day after she disappeared. Her roommates, not seeing her return, became concerned and immediately began searching for her, distributing appeals on social media and filling the city with flyers. The killer, meanwhile, attempted to manipulate the search. To those who asked for information, he told them he was in contact with the police and would provide the information he had, went to the house of his roommates and pretended to be worried about Sula.
He hugged the girl's father, whom he met at the police station, telling him he was truly sorry. He also posted an Instagram story pretending to be the girl, which none of her friends believed. A clear plan, which nevertheless managed to delay the arrest a little. The police had already put his phone under surveillance. When they saw that the girl's GPS signal pointed to Samson's house, they went inside and arrested him.
