Protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, citizens bring the symbolic raft

Citizens and activists continued their protest against the construction of the resort in the Zvërnec area today, gathering for the eighth consecutive day in Tirana.

Protesters marched from Skanderbeg Square to the Prime Minister's Office, where they demanded the government's resignation and opposed the project, which they say harms the environment and the public interest.

With calls for "Resignation", "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", the participants raised concerns related not only to the project in Zvërnec, but also to immigration, property, justice, education and healthcare.

One of the most symbolic moments of the rally was the placement of a raft in front of the Prime Minister's Office.

According to protesters, it represents the mass emigration of Albanians and the departure of young people from the country in search of a better life.

During the protest, several citizens from the emigration community gave speeches, calling on young people not to leave Albania.

An emigrant from Shkodra declared that emigration is not a solution and invited the diaspora to return to contribute to the country.

Another protester addressed the Prime Minister with the message that the diaspora will not only come for vacation, but also to protest.

Meanwhile, other participants demanded an investigation by SPAK into the project in Zvërnec and more transparency on the procedures followed for the investment.

During the rally, the main demands of the protesters were also presented, which include the resignation of the government, the repeal of the strategic investor status, the cancellation of the "Mountains Package", as well as the cancellation of changes to the laws on protected areas and cultural heritage.

Also, a call was made from the podium for a broader civic mobilization on June 10, with the aim of creating a nationwide movement.

Until the evening hours, the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office continues with speeches and citizen participation, while the organizers have announced the continuation of the rallies in the coming days.
