The Special Prosecution Office closes the investigations into the former mayor of Kavaja, Elvis Rroshi, takes the file to court

A few days after Rroshi's appearance at SPAK, which signed the closure of the investigations, prosecutor Elvin Gokaj filed a request with the GJKKO to transfer the case against Rroshi to trial.

Rudina Palloj has been appointed judge to review the prosecution's request regarding the former mayor of Kavaja who has been charged with the criminal offense of "abuse of office".

The investigation came after a report made by the Supreme State Audit Office about irregularities in tenders during his period at the head of the Municipality of Kavaja.

According to the investigation, it is suspected that Rroshi and several other officials caused economic damage of 33 million lek with tenders for the reconstruction of the city center and the construction of several roads.
