Gazmir Preçi , who was arrested yesterday evening in a bar in the Kinostudio area in Tirana, has managed to climb to the top of the Durrës police station, even though earlier he was under investigation for allowing cultivation of cannabis in Malaccastra.

Until 2021, Preçi was a police inspector in Mallakastër, where he was investigated for favoring the planting of cannabis.

However, 3 years later, he finds himself in an important task at the Police station in Durrës, where this time he took on the role of the business enforcer.

After the checks he had carried out several times in a row at a strip club in the city of Durrës and where he had found no violations, Preçi had asked the owner for an amount of 20 thousand euros, with the claim that he had found an uninsured employee, even though this it is not the competence of the police institution.

Under pressure, the business owner reported Preci to the AMP, and then it became possible to arrest him in flagrante delicto, entrapping him.

The business owner and Preçi met in the Kinostudio area in Tirana, where the head of the sector would receive a portion of the money.

Carefree, dressed in sports clothes and house slippers, Preçi arrived at the bar where he claimed to receive the large sum, but instead received handcuffs.

Beyond the case of Preçi, who was a well-known name for justice, the increase in cases of corruption in the ranks of the state police, which clearly undermines the trust of citizens, remains worrying.

Investigations about Fier

In 2021, the Fier Regional Directorate of the SCBA, set personal security measures for some police officers of the chain of command and in charge of the Mallakastër Police Station who had allowed the planting of drugs by the Vjosa River.

Among them was the name of Gazmir Preçi, against whom the security measure "obligation to appear" was imposed.

Preçi held the position of head of the police station in the Mallakastra police.

After the investigations, it turned out that the police officers had misused their duties during the period June - September 2021 by allowing or favoring the criminal activity of some citizens previously arrested by the Fier District Prosecutor's Office for cultivating narcotic plants.

- Inspector Ornel Kuqari, with the duty of Criminal Laboratory Technician at DVP Fier, with security measure "Arrest in prison".

- Commissioner Gazmir Preci, in the position of former Head of the Mallakastër Police Station

- Inspector Ylli Koreveshaj, with SPZ duties at the Mallakastër Police Station

- Inspector Irfan Bajramaj, with SPZ duties at the Mallakastër Police Station.
