A 25-year-old man from Shkodra, considered a high-risk person, has been arrested by police in the capital.
Tirana Police report that the young man, in collaboration with his brother, possessed 2 remote-controlled mines, programmed for remote detonation, which were suspected of being used for serious criminal acts.
A 28-year-old man was also arrested, who was helping the young man hide, while 1 vehicle and 3 cell phones were also seized during the operation.
"The Services of the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector, in cooperation with Police Commissariat No. 3, in continuation of the work to capture wanted citizens and bring them to criminal responsibility, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Together".
During the operation, the following citizens were arrested in Selita and put in handcuffs: J. Sh., 25 years old, resident of Shkodra, for whom the Prosecution has issued a detention order for the criminal offense of "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition". This citizen was wanted in the framework of the coded operation "Brothers", conducted in January 2024, as he is suspected of possessing, in collaboration with his brother (arrested), 2 remote-controlled mines, programmed for remote detonation, which are suspected of being used for serious criminal events; GH, 28 years old, resident of Shkodra, as he is suspected of supporting citizen J. Sh., helping him to hide", informs the police.
