A 23-year-old woman appeared this morning near the Durrës maternity hospital, where she had planned to give birth to her baby and then abandon it at this institution.

From the preliminary information, the young woman claimed that her partner had left for Italy and in the conditions where she was alone and financially unable, it was impossible to raise her child alone.

The maternity staff notified the Durrës police and a ready group accompanied the young woman to the police station to receive her testimony.

Until now, it is not known whether the young woman was a resident of Durrës, or had come from another city.

Despite News24's insistence to learn more about this event, no concrete answer was given from the city's maternity hospital regarding the case in question. Child abandonment is a well-known phenomenon.

We recall here that about a month ago, 22-year-old Denada Sula abandoned her baby near the garbage can near the roundabout at the entrance to Golem. The baby had been there for several hours until it was found by a random citizen.
