At 03:44 on June 9, 2021, a cry shook the calm in the fields of Piossasco (Torino): "Help, thieves". Roberto Mottura and his wife Laura Mai were in the bedroom on the second floor of their villa. Son Tommaso, 13, slept in the next room. Laura got up and went downstairs.

In the living room he saw the two men dressed in black. The woman ran upstairs shouting: "The thieves have entered." The husband ran to the living room and confronted them. It all happened in a few minutes. A shot was heard. Mottura died at 04:22, while the perpetrators fled in the dark.

Two years later, the Turin court sentenced the two persons in question. Life imprisonment for Emirjon Margjini, the person who opened fire, and 16 years in prison for his accomplice, Mergim Lazri. The prosecution had asked for life imprisonment for the two Albanians. But for the court, Lazri was not inside the house when he was shot, so the charge brought against him was requalified.

Also, the court ordered an immediate compensation for the victim's family, in the amount of 300 thousand euros.

"There will never be justice, my son no longer has a father", was the desperate comment of Mottura's wife, writes Corriere Della Sera.

In the judicial process against Margjini and Larzi, 4 other Albanians ended up on various charges, such as favoritism, possession of drugs and weapons, but in the end they were acquitted of the charges.
