A 54-year-old woman was detained at Kapshtica customs after being caught with a large amount of undeclared money.

The police inform that the woman residing in Canada tried to leave Albania by bus, when an amount of 30,000 Canadian dollars was found in her handbag.

Police notification:

30,000 undeclared Canadian dollars are seized. The possessor is prosecuted.

The services of the Kapshticë Border Police Station, following the work to prevent and combat illegality, within the framework of increased controls, based on the risk analysis, at the exit of the Republic of Albania, have moved to the second line, for control of in detail, a bus, in which citizen S. Th., 54 years old, resident in Canada, was traveling as a passenger.

During the search, 30,000 Canadian dollars undeclared were found in the 54-year-old's handbag. The monetary amount was seized as material evidence.

Further procedural actions were carried out by the Crime Investigation Specialists of DVKM Korçë, who referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border".

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Korçë General Jurisdiction, for further actions.
